Cílem mé práce je zjistit, jaké překladatelské metody a obecné strategie byly využity při překladu humoru v muzikálu Shrek, a zejména proč. Zaměřuji se jak na překlad monologů a dialogů, tak písňových textů. Teoretická část zahrnuje klasifikace využívané k odlišení typu humoru, zásadní je typologie dle Cintas & Remael, kterou později využívám při analýze. Dále představuji nejčastěji užívané překladatelské metody a specifika překladu muzikálových a písňových textů. V praktické části provádím kvalitativní analýzu překladu humoru v muzikálu Shrek, kde zejména hodnotím užité překladatelské metody a jejich funkčnost. Má práce obsahuje i analýzu kvantitativní. Zde zkoumám podobu, ve které se humor objevuje v CT, dále prezentuji míru zastoupení jednotlivých kategorií humoru dle Cintas & Remael v originálním a přeloženém scénáři. Součástí mé práce je i komentář překladatele muzikálu Shrek, Martina Fahrnera.The aim of my work is to find out what translation methods and general strategies were used in the translation of humor in the musical Shrek, and especially why. I focus on the translation of monologues and dialogues as well as song lyrics. The theoretical part includes the classifications used to distinguish the type of humor, the typology according to Cintas & Remael, which I later use in the analysis, is essential. Furthermore, I present the most frequently used translation methods and the specifics of translating musical and song texts. In the practical part, I perform a qualitative analysis of the translation of humor in the musical Shrek, where I mainly evaluate the translation methods used and their functionality. Here I examine the form in which humor appears in CT, and further present the degree of representation of individual categories of humor according to Cintas & Remael in the original and translated script. Part of my work is also a commentary by the translator of the musical Shrek, Martin Fahrner.
