Tato práce se zabývá textuální analýzou japonského anime Attack on Titan. Z velké části je v práci zvolen neoformalistický přístup, jakožto přístup k analýze tohoto seriálu. Vzhledem k povaze anime Attack on Titan jsou v práci zohledněny přístupy TV studies a analýzy animovaného filmu. Hlavním cílem práce je zanalyzovat jeden z nejpopulárnějších titulů japonské animované tvorby posledních let a poukázat na odlišnosti, či podobnosti se seriálovou tvorbou západní. Jedním z důležitých závěrů je poznatek, že projekty, které jsou v západní společnosti spojeny s animací, jsou většinou určeny pro dětské publikum, nebo jsou úzce spjaty se specifickým žánrem. Kdežto japonská animovaná tvorba vytváří seriály a filmy pro všechny věkové kategorie v různých žánrech.The thesis deals with textual analysis of Japanese anime Attack on Titan. The analysis was largely conducted by neoformalist film analysis which was chosen as an approach for analysing this series. Due to the nature of the anime Attack on Titan, the approaches of TV studies and animated film analyses are taken into account in the thesis. The main objective is to analyse one of the most popular titles of Japanese anime in recent years and highlight the differences or similarities with series production of the West. One important conclusion is the finding that the projects which are in Western society associated with animation are typically designed for a child audience or are closely linked to a specific genre. While creators of Japanese animation produce series and movies for all ages in different genres.
