Úvodní kapitola je věnována biografii autorky, přičemž jsou zohledněny zejména ty události, které významným způsobem ovlivnily její tvorbu. V následující kapitole jsou nejprve stručně definovány žánry fantasy a science fiction a následně je pozornost zaměřena na děj obou knih. Třetí kapitola nabízí přehled některých stěžejních pojmů z literární teorie. Hlavní důraz se klade na typologii, funkce a charakteristiku postav. Ve čtvrté kapitole je uvedena charakteristika protagonistů Tiuriho a Edyho Jansena, kteří jsou posléze porovnáni v závěrečné kapitole této bakalářské práce.. -- Abstrakt: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare the main characters of the literary works The Letter for the King and Miles High and Wide as the Sky written by Tonke Dragt, the Dutch children's and youth literary author. In the first chapter, the author's biography is presented, whereby those occurances are mentioned which had mainly influenced her literary work. In the following chapter, the fantasy and science fiction genres are shortly defined and then the thesis is focused on the storyline of both works. The third chapter provides a short outline of the key terms in literary theory. In addition, it is accentuated the typology, function and features of characters. In the fourth chapter, the features of main characters Tiuri and Edy Jansen are showed and they are compared furthermore in the end of the bachelor thesis.
