Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou mytologického románu Minos oder Die Geburt Europas (1931) rakouského spisovatele a olomouckého rodáka Franze Spundy. V teoretické části je představen autor a jeho tvorba, definován literární subžánr mytologický román a vybrané dílo je interpretováno a zasazeno do kulturně-historického kontextu. Praktická část zahrnuje rozbor románu z hlediska autorovy "práce na mýtu", zaměřuje se tedy především na Spundovo pojetí mýtu o Théseovi a Mínoovi a zkoumá způsob, jakým autor do svého díla zakomponoval nové vědecké poznatky a odkazy na další literární texty. Pozornost je věnována také vztahu románu k době svého vzniku, tj. přelomu 20. a 30. let 20. století.The main focus of this bachelor thesis lies on creating an analysis of the mythical novel Minos oder Die Geburt Europas (1931) by the Olomouc-born Austrian writer Franz Spunda. In the theoretical part, the author and his work are introduced, the literary subgenre mythical novel is defined and the book ist put into cultural-historical context. The practical part presents an analysis of the novel that focuses especially on Spunda's "work on myth", i. e. the changes that he made to the Theseus-Minos myth as well as his method of including new science discoveries and references to other literary texts into his work. Particular attention was paid to the novel's relation to the time of its inception, i. e. the turn of the 1920s and the 1930s.
