Tato práce se zabývá románem Karla Poláčka Hostinec U kamenného stolu a jeho stejnojmennou filmovou adaptací, již režíroval Josef Gruss. Jejím cílem je popsat rozdíly mezi oběma díly, interpretovat je a odhalit, zda a jakým způsobem je díky nim odlišné vyznění filmu od vyznění románu. Metodologicky práce vychází z teorie adaptace Lindy Hutcheonové doplněné o přístupy Briana McFarlana a Seymoura Chatmana. Je v ní představen kontext vzniku románu a filmu a následně provedena jejich komparace ve třech kategoriích - události, postavy a komika. Závěr práce shrnuje odhalené proměny adaptovaného textu a jejich možné důvody i důsledky.This thesis deals with novel by Karel Poláček The Stone Table Inn and its film adaptation with the same title, which was directed by Josef Gruss. The aim of the thesis is to describe differences between both works, interpret them and expose the way in with the film has different meaning in contrast with the novel. Methodological resource of it is the theory of adaptation by Linda Hutcheon, supplied by Brian McFarlane's and Seymour Chatman's approaches. In the thesis is presented the context, in with the novel and the film has been developed, and then there is made comparison between both of them in three cathegories - events, characters and comicality. In conclusion, there are summarised revealed changes of the adaptated text and their possible reasons and consequences.
