Předmětem diplomové práce je narativní žánrová analýza dánského televizního seriálu Borgen (2010-2013). Cílem práce je ověřit komplexitu vyprávění a prozkoumat zařazení pořadu do žánrové kategorie politického dramatu. Práce vychází z kombinace současných textuálně orientovaných teoretických přístupů ke zkoumání televize. Jde zejména o koncept komplexní televize Jasona Mittella s příležitostným využitím přístupů Radomíra D. Kokeše a Jeremyho G. Butlera. V práci je rozebrána konstrukce fikčního světa, vyprávění, postav, prostředí a témat. Analýza potvrzuje komplexitu pořadu, jelikož balancuje mezi epizodickým a seriálovým vyprávěním, užívá sebevědomé postupy a klade požadavky na divácké zapojení. Při zkoumání žánru dochází k porovnání s pořady řazenými do politické fikce a k obohacení textuální analýzy o hlediska produkce, distribuce a recepce. Závěrem práce dochází k potvrzení zařazení seriálu do kategorie politického dramatu a k vyzdvihnutí jeho edukační funkce.The topic of the thesis is a narrative genre analysis of the Danish television serial Borgen (2010-2013). The main objective of the thesis is to verify the complexity of the narrative and to examine its genre categorization. The thesis is based on a combination of contemporary textually oriented theoretical approaches to study television, in particular, the Jason Mittell's concept of complex television with the occasional use of the approaches of Radomír D. Kokeš and Jeremy G. Butler. The thesis analyses the construction of the fictional world, narrative, characters, setting and themes. The analysis confirms the complexity of the show, as it balances between episodic and serial narrative, uses self-conscious storytelling mechanics, and demands viewer's engagement. The textual analysis is enriched in terms of production, distribution and reception. The conclusion of the thesis confirms the inclusion of the serial in the category of political drama and its educational function is emphasized.
