Cílem této práce je definování specifických znaků odlišujících tvorbu současného francouzského jeune cinéma od mainstreamové produkce v kontextu jejich mediálního obrazu zastoupenou zejména kritikou časopisu Cahiers du cinéma. Určování inovativních prvků bylo provedeno na úrovni žánrového uchopení, narativu a mizanscény s důrazem na kameru a střih. Ze závěrů této práce pak vyplývá, že opravdu lze nalézt osobité využití prvků na všech třech úrovních. Přestože se však režiséři snaží o svébytné vytváření svých filmů, zůstávají stále příliš svázáni fungováním národního filmového průmyslu.The aim of this thesis is to define the specific characteristics distinguishing the creation of contemporary French jeune cinéma from mainstream production in the context of their media image represented especially by critic of Cahiers du cinéma. Determination of innovative features was carried out at the level of genre, narrative and mise en sc?ne, with emphasis on the camera and editing. The findings of this work show that indeed the distinctive elements can be found used at all three levels. Yet, while the directors try to create their distinct films, they are still too dependent on the functioning of the national film industry.
