Další částí prvního dílčího cíle je klasifikace, popis a praktické představení patnácti metod analýzy a vizualizace eye-tracking dat vhodných pro kartografický výzkum. Výsledkem dílčího cíle je rozhodovací schéma pro výběr nejvhodnější metody a ohodnocení metod dle náročnosti a rychlosti použití. Tyto výstupy lze použít pro výběr vhodné metody analýzy a vizualizace eye-tracking dat v budoucích experimentech s kartografickou tématikou. Obsahem druhého dílčího cíle je návrh, průběh a vyhodnocení sedmi eye-tracking experimentů zaměřených na analýzu rozdílného vnímání 2D a 3D kartografických vizualizací. Vyhodnocení experimentů proběhlo s využitím metod popsaných a ohodnocených v první části práce. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate 3D visualization using analyses of seven eye-tracking experiments. The first part of the thesis was focused on the selection of the most appropriate settings of the identification algorithm for data classification to the fixation and saccades. Another part of the first sub-goal was classification, description and presentation of outputs of fifteen methods for analysis and visualization of eye-tracking data suitable for cartographic research. The result of the sub-goal is the decision tree for the selection of the best suitable method and the assessment of described methods in terms of the difficulty of the method and the speed of its use. These outputs can be used for the selection of appropriate methods of analysis and visualization of eye-tracking data in future cartographic experiments. The goal of the second sub-goal was design, creation, and analysis of seven eye-tracking experiments aimed at analysing the difference in the perception of 2D and 3D cartographic visualization. Evaluation of the experiments was carried out using the methods described and evaluated in the first part. Three thematic areas in which 3D visualization is used were selected for evaluation. It was a visualization of the relief, visualization of the urban areas and thematic 3D maps. The result of the third sub-goal is a set of recommendations for eye-tracking testing and analysing of the eye-tracking data in cartographic research. A sets of recommendations were made based on the author's experience of the creation, and analyses of eye-tracking experiments in the dissertation, as well as from other conducted experiments. Analysis of eye movements during reading and working with the map was not used in the Czech Republic before. With the decreasing cost of professional eye-trackers and boom of low-cost eye-trackers, more cartographic eye-tracking studies are expected in the near future. Author believes that his Ph.D. thesis will facilitate the beginnings of cartographers work with eye-tracking devices, will help to assessment of the user perception of maps and will also help to clarify the effectiveness of 3D visualization in cartography.
