Cílem této práce byl ucelený popis problematiky hledání smyslu života u mladistvých klientů Probační a mediační služby ČR. V teoretické části jsme pojednávali o instituci Probační a mediační služby ČR, o její činnosti a roli v trestní justici. Dále jsme charakterizovali mladistvého pachatele, se zaměřením na období mládí z psychologického hlediska a jeho postavení v trestní justici. Stěžejním tématem se stalo prožívání smyslu života. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zjištění míry prožívání smysluplnosti života u mladistvých klientů Probační a mediační služby ČR, středisko Kroměříž. Zajímalo nás, zda se prožívání smysluplnosti života liší u mladistvých klientů v institucionální péči a u klientů žijících v rodině. V rámci těchto dvou skupin jsme se pak zabývali otázkou, zda se naplnění smysluplnosti liší u prvopachatelů a klientů užívající nyní či v minulosti návykové látky. Jako metodu pro získání dat bylo použito dotazníkové šetření. Byly využity dva typy standardizovaného dotazníku, a to Logo-test E- Lukasové a Existenciální škála A- Längleho a kol.The aim of this work was to complete a comprehensive description of the issues and problems faced by juveniles who are clients of Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech Republic (the institution) and in particular their search for a meaning to life. In the theoretical section of the thesis I describe in detail the institution, its work and role in the criminal justice process. I have also characterised the juvenile offender from a psychological point of view, particularly in terms of their feelings of self worth in relation to their position in criminal justice system. The objective of the practical research was to determine the level of experience of meaningfulness of life of juvenile clients of the institution. I wondered if there was a difference in feeling such emotions between adolescents in institutional care and those living with a family. Within these two groups I also dealt with the question of whether the fulfilment of meaningfulness is different for first time offenders and those using or having used addictive substances. Questionnaires were used as a method of gathering data. Two types of standardised questionnaires were used: 1) Logo-Test by E.Lucas and 2) Existential Range by A.Längle et al.
