Tématem této bakalářské diplomové práce je zobrazování queer tematiky v americké televizním seriálu Queer as Folk. Cílem práce je představit samotný seriál a zhodnotit, jakým způsobem jsou zde využity základní myšlenky queer teorie, které jsou načrtnuty v úvodní teoretické části. Seriál Queer as Folk je zasazen do kontextu soudobé televizní tvorby s gay/lesbickou/bisexuální/transgenderovou (GLBT) tematikou, na jehož základě je osvětleno jeho jedinečné postavení. Na vybraných příkladech demonstruji, jaké postupy jsou využity po stránce stylové i ideové. Je zde též nastíněn jeho vliv na pozdější seriálovou tvorbu s GLBT tematikou.The topic of this bachelor work is the imagery of queer theme in the American television, particularly in the series Queer as Folk. The aims are to introduce the series itself and to evaluate the ways of the application of the basic idea of queer theory, which are outlined in the opening theoretical part. The series Queer as Folk is put into context with contemporary television production with gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender themes and on the basis of this confrontal is explained the unique position of QaF. On the represented examples I demonstrate which both style and idea methods are used. There is also sketched the influence of QaF on the later series production with LGBT theme in my work.
