Spolková republika Německo je považována za velmi aktivního účastníka evropského integračního procesu. Jeho sjednocení proto bylo vnímáno s různými očekáváními ohledně dalšího směřování politiky Spolkové republiky vůči vznikající Evropské unii. Tato práce zkoumá roli, kterou Německo hrálo ve vývoji Společné zahraniční a bezpečnostní politiky Evropské unie v časovém rozmezí od jeho sjednocení do současnosti. S použitím teoretického rámce tvořeného teorií evropeizace a liberálním intergovernmentalismem analyzuje přenášení tradičních paradigmat německé politiky na evropskou úroveň, vliv EU na změny německé bezpečnostní politiky a německé snahy o formování SZBP. Na konkrétních příkladech ukazuje podíl Spolkové republiky na realizaci této politiky. Hodnotí také aktuální trendy a perspektivy.The Federal Republic of Germany is considered a very active participant of European integration process. Its reunification was therefore perceived with different expectations of further aspirations of the German policy to the emerging European Union. This paper examines the role that Germany played in the development of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, in the period from its reunification to the present day. A theoretical frame made by the theory of Europeanization and a liberal intergovernmentalism is used here to analyze a transmission of the traditional paradigms of German policy to the European level. The paper further analyzes the influence of EU to the changes in German security policy and the German endeavour to form CFSP. Concrete examples are used to show a share that the Federal Republic took in an implementation of the policy. Current trends and perspectives are also assessed in this work. It is argued that the German foreign policy has become more pragmatic. This trend is apparent in German activity within the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.
