Předložená dizertační práce je postavena na historickosrovnávacího výzkumu, jehož cílem je analyzovat vznik a vývoj muzejní a galerijní pedagogiky v angloamerickém prostředí. Výzkum, náležející do oblasti historické pedagogiky a využívající jejích ustálených metodologických postupů, bude mapovat tendence a myšlenkové koncepce vycházející z teorie a praxe významných angloamerických odborníků a praktiků. Cílem výzkumu nebude pouhá faktografická deskripce historie tohoto oboru, ale také identifikace klíčových pedagogických teorií a přístupů, jež ovlivnily a nadále ovlivňují muzejněpedagogické myšlení v angloamerickém regionu. Během výzkumu budou analyzována jak díla hlavních angloamerických představitelů tohoto oboru, tak i dobové dokumenty a prameny. Historicko-pedagogický výzkum si také klade za cíl popsat širší celospolečenský kontext, v jehož rámci se vznik a vývoj tohoto oboru odehrává.The presented PhD thesis will have the form of a historical comparative research. Its main objective is to analyse the genesis and the development of museum and gallery education in the Anglo-American region. This research that belongs to the field of historical pedagogy and that uses its time-proven methodologies will map the tendencies and conceptions following the theory and praxis of the key Anglo-American museum education experts and practitioners. The objective of the research is not to produce a mere factographical description of the history of the field but rather to identify the key pedagogical theories and approaches which have informed and continue to inform museum education in the Anglo-American region. During the research, the main works of Anglo-American representatives of this field will be analysed as well as period documents and other sources of the time. This historical pedagogical research will also address the society-wide context within the scope of which the genesis and the development of this field takes place.
