Teoretická část je zpracována do tří kapitol a předkládá základní, informace o problematice Parkinsonovy nemoci. Jednotlivé části jsou věnovány historii, epidemiologii, etiopatogenezi, klinickému obrazu, diagnostice a léčbě této nemoci. Dále jsou předloženy možnosti ústavní i rodinné péče a poskytované formy sociální podpory. V praktické části jsou rozpracovány kazuistiky čtyř osob s Parkinsonovou nemocí, ke sběru dat bylo použito kvalitativní šetření. Hlavním cílem je přinést informace o životě těchto osob a jejich rodin, jež se vyjadřují k otázkám, které pomohly vyhodnotit jednotlivé dílčí cíle: Zjistit jaký vliv má Parkinsonova nemoc na život lidí s tímto onemocněním, důvody vedoucí k péči ústavní a domácí a zjistit jaká je poskytovaná péče v ústavním a domácím prostředí.The theory part is presented in 3 chapters and it gives basic but sufficient information concerning the problems related to Parkinsons disease. Altogether the chapters describe the history, the epidemiology, the symptoms, the diagnosis and the treatment of the disease. The paper also shows the forms of institutional and family care and social supports. The practical part describes the circumstances of 4 patiens, and also it collects the infornation. A qualitative study was carried out by interviews and observation. The work attemps to answer the question, which were put to the four patients and other family members concerning these issues; the effect of the disease on the patient´s quality of life, the reasons the patients have been put into institutional care, the differences between institutonal and family environments.
