(159 664 znaků) : grafy, tab. -- Oponent Olga Pechová. -- Ved. práce Ondřej Skopal. -- Abstrakt: Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na členy subkultury straight edge, pro které je charakteristické odmítání návykových látek, včetně alkoholu. Hlavním výzkumným cílem je objasnit motivy vedoucí k abstinenci, a to, jak aspekt abstinence ovlivňuje život člena subkultury straight edge. Pro tuto práci byl zvolen kvalitativní typ výzkumu, data byla získávána pomocí polostrukturovaných interview s jednotlivými příslušníky subkultury. Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen 12 stávajícími i bývalými členy subkultury straight edge, respondenti byli získáváni pomocí metody sněhové koule. Výsledky této práce ukazují, že rozhodnutí pro abstinenci je nejčastěji ovlivněno postoji k návykovým látkám, subjektivním pocitem nepotřebnosti těchto látek, potřebou sebekontroly a zkušeností setkání se se závislostí v úzkém sociálním okolí. Příslušníky subkultury jsou jak celoživotní abstinenti, tak i bývalí uživatelé drog. Nejčastěji se respondenti setkávají s reakcemi, jako je překvapení nebo nepochopení. Abstinence má pozitivní vliv na sebepojetí členů subkultury, ovlivňuje do značné míry i jejich partnerské vztahy. Myšlenky hnutí jsou vždy pojímány osobitým způsobem a abstinence je součástí identity členů subkultury.. -- Abstrakt: The thesis is focused on the members of the Straight Edge subculture, who are characterized by rejection of drugs, including alcohol. The main research goal is to clarify the motives for abstinence, as well as, how abstinence aspect affects the lives of members of the Straight Edge subculture. For this work, the quantitative research was chosen; data were collected through semi-structured interviews with individual members of the subculture. The research sample consisted of 12 current and former members of the Straight Edge subculture, respondents were recruited using the snowball sampling method. The results of this study indicate that the decision for abstinence is most commonly affected by attitudes towards addictive substances, subjective feelings of uselessness of these substances, the need of self-control and experience of encounters with addictions in close social surroundings. Members of the subculture are both lifelong abstainers, and former drug users. Most commonly, respondents encounter reactions such as surprise or misunderstanding. Abstinence has a positive effect on self-esteem of the subculture members, influencing in different ways their relationships. Movement ideas are always conceived in an original way, and abstinence is part of identity of the subculture members.
