Práce se zabývá adaptačním procesem dvou filmů režírovaných Karlem Kachyňou na motivy povídek Oty Pavla. Práce se zaměřuje na vymezení specifik okolností, za nichž každá z adaptací vznikala, dobovou recepci diváků a poetiky obou filmů se znalostí předchozí tvorby režiséra. V práci je zodpovězena série otázek představených Lindou Hutcheon, které popíší adaptační proces filmů Zlatí úhoři (1979) a Smrt krásných srnců (1986).The thesis focuses on the adaptation process of two films directed by Karel Kachyna based on short stories by Ota Pavel. The thesis aims at defining the specifics of the circumstances under which each adaptation was made, the contemporary reception of the audience and the poetics of both films with knowledge of the director's previous work. The thesis answers a series of questions introduced by Linda Hutcheon to describe the adaptation process of The Golden Eels (1979) and The Death of the Beautiful Deer (1986).
