Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou společenského rozvoje na sub-národní úrovni v Bosně a Hercegovině. V první části práce popisuje historický vývoj konceptů měření blahobytu, jejich nedostatky a uvádí případné alternativy. Dále práce popisuje politickou a společenskou situaci v Bosně a Hercegovině spojenou s administrativním a správním členěním země. Cílem práce je pomocí vhodných kvantitativních přístupů vyhodnotit a následně analyzovat společenský rozvoj v sub-národních levelech Bosny a Hercegoviny. Výzkumná část práce vychází z metodického rámce Indexu společenského rozvoje (Social Progress Index, SPI) adekvátně adaptovaného na realitu Bosny a Hercegoviny. Tato adaptace je významně závislá také na existenci vhodných indikátorů a dostupnosti dat. V první fázi se výzkumná část práce zaměřuje na ověřování existence indikátorů a dostupnosti dat pro vytvoření sub-národního indexu Bosny a Hercegoviny, případně jejich entit. V návaznosti na analýzu proveditelnosti proběhl sběr dat a tvorba datového souboru, ze kterého se v další fázi práce vytvořil sub-národní index. Závěrečná část práce popisuje výsledky vypočteného indexu a analyzuje úroveň společenského pokroku ve vybraných sub-národních regionech Bosny a Hercegoviny. Závěry této práce odhalují geografické a společenské souvislosti v nerovnosti ve společenského pokroku.This thesis deals with the analysis of social progress at the sub-national level in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first part of the thesis describes the historical development of the concepts of welfare measurement, their shortcomings and possible alternatives. The thesis describes political and social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina related to the administrative division of the country. The aim of the thesis is to use appropriate quantitative approaches to evaluate and then analyze social progress in the sub-national levels of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research part of the thesis is based on the methodological framework of the Social Progress Index (SPI) adequately adapted to the reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This adaptation is also significantly dependent on the existence of appropriate indicators and data availability. In the first phase, the research part of the thesis focuses on verifying the existence of indicators and data availability for the creation of a sub-national index of Bosnia and Herzegovina or their entities. The feasibility analysis is followed by data collection and dataset creation, which enabled the creation of the index. The final part of the work describes the calculated results of index and analyzes the level of social progress in selected sub-national regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conclusions of the thesis reveal geographical and social connections in inequality in social progress.
