Geografické informační systémy jsou systémy, které umožňují ukládat, spravovat a analyzovat prostorová data. Jejich uplatnění je široké. Tato práce shrnuje poznatky o současném nasazení geografických informačních systémů ve veřejné správě malých obcí Zlínského kraje. Použitou metodou byl rozhovor. Práce popisuje některé GIS softwary a významné projekty, které jsou v zájmovém území uskutečňovány.Geographic information systems are systems which allow collecting, managing and analyzing spatial data. Their application is in many ways. This thesis summarizes findings on the current deployment of geographic information systems in the public administration of small municipalities in the Zlín Region. The interview method was used here. The thesis describes some of the GIS software and important projects which take place in the area of interest.
