Tato práce se snaží zhodnotit současné postavení ČR ve světě pohledem Wallersteinovy teorie světového systému. Z důvodu pandemie, která jako nedávná mimořádná událost zasáhla celý svět, se data, kvůli vyšší relevantnosti a interpretovatelnosti, vztahují k roku 2019. Teoretická část práce obsahuje přehled Wallesteinova díla se zaměřením na zmíněnou teorii, která slouží jako teoretická základna pro určení vhodných hodnotících indikátorů. Tento výběr je stěžejní pro praktickou část, kde jsou na jeho základě aplikována konfrontací s daty pro zhodnocení pozice ČR ve světovém systému. Tato data jsou dále interpretována jak jednotlivě, tak souhrnně. Závěrem tedy bude možné konstatovat, zda ČR v rámci světového systému zastává pozici jádra, semiperiferie či periferie a zda je jeho typickým zástupcem. Výsledky ukazují, že ČR si stále drží pozici semiperiferie. Není ovšem typickým zástupcem dané skupiny, jelikož díky (nejen) geografické blízkosti zemím jádra se řadí mezi země semiperiferie, které mají k zemím jádra nejblíže.This thesis tries to evaluate the current position of the Czech Republic in the world from the perspective of Wallerstein's world system theory. Due to the pandemic, which as a recent extraordinary event affected the whole world, the data, for the sake of greater relevance and interpretability, refer to the year 2019. The theoretical part of the thesis contains an overview of Wallerstein's work with a focus on the mentioned theory, which serves as a theoretical basis for determining appropriate evaluation indicators. This selection is central to the practical part, where it is applied by confronting the data to assess the position of the Czech Republic in the world system. These data are further interpreted both individually and collectively. In conclusion, it will be possible to state whether the Czech Republic occupies the position of core, semi-periphery or periphery within the modern world system and whether it is its typical representative. The results show that the Czech Republic still holds the position of semi-periphery. However, it is not a typical representative of the group, as due to its (not only) geographical proximity to the core countries, it ranks among the semi-periphery countries, which are closest to the core countries.
