Diplomová práce se zabývala problematikou dialogu a polemikami v průběhu kanonizace Jana Sarkandra. Předložili jsme fakta o jeho životě i mučednické smrti, zmínili jsme i období politických a náboženských událostí 17. století. Především se jednalo o rodinné zázemí Sarkandra, jeho cestu ke kněžství, duchovní službu ve far-nostech, uvěznění i události předcházející krutému umučení. Zmínili jsme též dlouhou cestu k jeho beatifikaci. Hlavním tématem práce byl pohled katolické církve a evangelických církví na kanonizaci Jana Sarkandra v r. 1995. Předložili jsme dokumenty z fondu Archivu Arci-biskupství olomouckého, především korespondenci mezi papežem Janem Pavlem II. a olomouckým arcibiskupem Františkem Vaňákem a později Janem Graubnerem, kore-spondenci biskupa Františka Radkovského a písemnou komunikaci synodního seniora ČCE Pavla Smetany s představiteli katolické církve i prezidentem Václavem Havlem. K ohlédnutí na kanonizaci po 25 letech jsme čerpali z Katolického týdeníku a webu Arcibiskupství olomouckého.The thesis dealt with the issue of dialogue and controversy during the canonization of Jan Sarkander. We presented facts about his life and martyrdom, and we also mentioned the period of political and religious events of the 17th century. In particular, we discussed Sarkander's family background, his path to the priesthood, his ministry in parishes, his imprisonment and the events preceding his cruel torture. We also mentioned the long road to his beatification. The main theme of the thesis was the view of the Catholic Church and the evangelical churches on the canonization of Jan Sarkander in 1995. We presented documents from the archives of the Archbishopric of Olomouc, mainly correspondence between pope Jan Pavel II and the archbishop of Olomouc František Vaňák and later Jan Graubner, as well as correspondence of bishop František Radkovský, and also written communications of the synod's senior minister Pavel Smetana with representatives of the Catholic Church and president Václav Havel. To look back on the canonization after 25 years, we drew from the Catholic Weekly and the website of the Archbishopric of Olomouc.
