Základním východiskem v naší studii byla teorie locus of control od J. B. Rottera, kdy internal locus of control (ILOC) bývá spojován s lepšími akademickými výsledky, menším rizikovým chováním a větší angažovaností ve snaze změnit svou nepříznivou situaci, v níž se osoba nachází. Naopak external locus of control (ELOC) bývá spíše spojován s negativními vlastnostmi, jako je rizikové chování, laxnost, prokrastinace a snazší ovlivnitelnost. Za účely této studie jsme zvolili kvantitativní přístup za použití čtyř metod měřících locus of control (CNSIE, KMKB, IE-4 a SMKDZ). Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen 587 studenty středních průmyslových škol odborných se studiem zakončeným maturitní zkouškou. Školy byly vylosovány náhodným výběrem, kdy každá zastupovala jeden kraj. Zjistili jsme, že průměrný LOC skór signifikantně souvisí s pohlavím (ve všech čtyřech metodách) a s věkem respondentů (ve dvou metodách), kde jsme částečně prokázali trend postupného poklesu LOC skóru s přibývajícím věkem.. -- Abstrakt: Title: Diagnosis of locus of control among adolescents aged 15-19 years in selected regions Author: Alan Fína Supervisor: PhDr. Martin Dolejš, Ph.D. Number of pages and characters: 73; 152 407 Number of appendices: 5 Number of references: 85 The objective of this thesis was to better understand and explore locus of control among adolescents aged 15 to 19 together with certain variables, which affect the distribution of this phenomena in the selected population. A cornerstone for our study was a theory constructed by J. B. Rotter, in which the internal locus of control (LOC) is associated with more positive attributes, such as better academic results, lower-risk behaviour or greater effort to change their undesirable situation. On the contrary, external locus of control (ELOC) is being associated with negative attributes such as risk behaviour, negligence, procrastination or greater suggestibility. For the purposes of this study we chose a quantitative approach while using four methods to measure locus of control (CNSIE, KMKB, IE and SMKDZ). The research population consisted of 587 high school students with the main subject area of industry, ended by a school-leaving exam. Schools were chosen randomly but each of them could represent only one region. The results showed that there is a significant relation between gender and the measured LOC scores (in all four methods). Furthermore, we found certain significance between LOC scores and age (in two methods), where we partially proved a phenomena of decreasing LOC scores with increasing age.
