Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá motivací ke studiu psychologie. V teoretické části jsou zpracována témata týkající se motivace v obecné rovině a v návaznosti jsou uvedeny možné zdroje motivů ke studiu psychologie. Následující kapitoly se věnují konceptu sebedeterminační teorie (Deci & Ryan, 2000), ze které vychází škála akademické motivace (Vallerand et el, 1992) využitá v našem výzkumu. Následně jsou uvedeny stěžejní teorie týkající se motivace k pomáhajícím profesí (Schroeder, et al., 1995; Bierhoff, 2006) a dosavadní empirická zjištění (např.: Inglés et el, 2013; Poledňáková et el, 1998; Mlčák et el, 2016). Prvním cílem výzkumu bylo identifikovat motivační faktory ovlivňující výběr studia psychologie. Druhým výzkumným cílem nalézt zastoupení jednotlivých motivačních faktorů u studentů a absolventů psychologie. Tento cíl má také zahrnovat zjištění aktuální akademické motivace studentů psychologie. Dotazníková baterie byla distribuována elektronickou formou studentům a absolventům psychologie především v České republice. Z celkového počtu respondentů (n = 495) bylo 432 žen a 62 mužů. Zastoupeno bylo 357 studentů a 138 absolventů psychologie většiny kateder psychologie v ČR. Výsledky analýz k prvnímu výzkumnému cíli ukazují 18 dominantních položek zastupujících hlavní motivy ke studiu psychologie. Tyto položky sytí výsledný třífaktorový i pětifaktorový model motivů ke studiu psychologie. Výsledky druhého cíle ukazují převládající seberealizační motivy ke studiu psychologie, které následují motivy prosociální. Z pohledu akademické motivace studenti jsou studenti psychologie motivováni převážně vnitřně. Prokázaly se také rozdíly v motivaci mezi pohlavím a ročníky studia.The Master's thesis deals with the motivation to study psychology. The theoretical part deals with topics related to motivation in general and the possible sources of motivation to study psychology are listed. The following chapters deal with the concept of self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000) on which the range of academic motivation (Vallerand et el, 1992) used in our research is based. The following chapter presents the main theories concerning motivation to helping professions (Schroeder, et al., 1995; Bierhoff, 2006) and empirical findings to date (eg: Inglés et el, 2013; Poledňáková et el, 1998; Mlčák et el, 2016). The first aim of the research was to identify motivational factors influencing the choice of psychology studies. The second research goal is to find the representation of individual motivational factors in students and graduates of psychology. This goal also includes finding current academic motivation of psychology students. The questionnaire battery was distributed electronically to students and psychology graduates mainly in the Czech Republic. Of the total number of respondents (n = 495), 432 were women and 62 were men. There were 357 students and 138 psychology graduates from most departments of psychology in the Czech Republic. The results of the analyses for the first research goal show 18 dominant items representing the main motives for the study of psychology. These items feed the resulting three-factor and five-factor model of motivation to study psychology. The results of the second objective show the prevailing self-realization motives for the study of psychology, which are followed by prosocial motives. In terms of academic motivation, students of psychology are motivated mostly internally. There were also differences in motivation between genders and years of study.
