Tato práce se zabývá rolí věřících prarodičů při výchově vnoučat. Shrnuje některé poznatky týkající se aspektů současné rodiny a mezigeneračního soužití, které mají na tuto roli vliv. Pozornost věnuje také vývoji prarodičovské role během posledních dvou století. Všímá si problematiky stáří a stárnutí a s nimi spojených změn, které se promítají do vztahů v rámci rodiny. Zaměřuje se také na roli spirituality a náboženství ve vyšším věku a některé aspekty duchovního zrání dítěte. Cílem praktické části práce je odpovědět na otázku, jakým způsobem věřící prarodiče vnímají svou roli ve výchově vnoučat. Výsledky dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 85 věřících prarodičů, jsou shrnuty v závěrečné části práce. Naznačují, že věřící prarodiče jsou zastánci tradiční koncepce rodičovské autonomie a předávání křesťanské víry vnoučatům chápou jako svou povinnost. Proto svou víru se svými vnoučaty různými způsoby sdílejí. Významnou roli přitom hraje zejména samotný životní vzor prarodiče.This paper deals with the role of believing grandparents in raising their grandchildren. It summarizes some informations on aspects of modern family and living together of generations that affect the role. It pays attention to an evolution of the role during the last two centuries. Old age and ageing and connected changes that influence family relations are mentioned here. An attention is paid to a role of spirituality and religion in life of elderly people and to some aspects of spiritual maturing of a child. The aim of practical part of this paper is to answer the question what is the way believing grandparents perceive their role in raising their grandchildren. The outcomes of the survey in which 85 believing grandparents took part are resumed in closing chapter. According to the outcomes believing grandparents support traditional concept of parental autonomy and they perceive passing on their christian faith to their grandchildren as their commitment.Therefore they share their faith with their grandchildren in different ways. Life model of a grandparent has important meaning too.
