Cílem práce je představit dílo José Maríi Arguedase Hluboké řeky v souvislosti s tématem obrany identity peruánského národa v myšlence transkulturace. Práce je rozdělena do 4 částí. První kapitola se věnuje teoretickému vymezení konceptu transkulturace a jejím hlavním představitelům. Druhá kapitola seznamuje čtenáře s indigenismem, jakožti literárním a politickým proudem a zejména pak s pojetím u M. Gonzálese Prady a J.C. Mariáteguihi. Třetí kapitola je místem aplikace myšlenky transkulturace a analýzy Hlubokých řek, a to na úrovní osobní a kulturní. Čtvrtá kapitola je závěrem mojí práce a zároveň obsahuje komentáře k některým vybraným tématům.The present thesis introduces the José María Arguedases work Deep Rivers in the context of Peruvian identity defense through the transculturation idea. Part one of the thesis demarcates the concept of transculturation theoretically. Indigenism as a both literary and political trend - with special emphasis on Prada´s and Mariátegui´s conception - is presented to the reader in the second part of the thesis. The transculturation idea is being applied and the the work Deep Rivers analysed on the cultural and personal level in the third chapter of the thesis. The fourth and tha last part of my thesis contains commentaries on various selected topics and it is the clousure of my work as well.
