Role Íránské islámské republiky je v Sýrii klíčová nejen z hlediska současné občanské války, ale také s dlouhodobějším vývojem v rámci regionu. Spojenectví těchto dvou zemí se těší enormní důležitosti obzvláště z důvodu klíčového postavení v regionu, díky čemuž jsou geopoliticky významné. Sýrie je nejen klíčová pro strategické zájmy Íránu na Středním východě, ale v rámci regionu je také jeho nejbližším spojencem. Cílem diplomové práce je analýza role Íránské islámské republiky v syrském konfliktu. Záměrem je v diplomové práci zodpovědět výzkumnou otázku, jaké motivy poháněly zahraniční politiku Íránu v souvislosti se syrským konfliktem. V této souvislosti je předpokládaná hypotéza "obranou režimu Bašára al-Asada získal Teherán více možností k rozšíření svého vlivu a moci v regionu i mimo něj." Diplomová práce je rozčleněna do dvou kapitol a příslušných podkapitol. První kapitola se zaměřuje na teoretické východisko práce, čímž je realistická teorie mezinárodních vztahů, a na historické vymezení týkající se důležitých mezníků zahraniční politiky Íránu a kořenů syrského konfliktu. Druhá kapitola se již zaměřuje na íránsko-syrské spojenectví a samotnou roli Íránské republiky v syrském konfliktu. Závěrem práce zhodnocuje cíle, výzkumnou otázku a hypotézu.The role of the Islamic Republic of Iran is crucial in Syria not only in terms of the current civil war, but also in a longer term in the region. The alliance of these two countries enjoys a great importance, especially because of its key position in the region, making it geopolitically significant. Syria is crucial to Iran's strategic interests in the Middle East as well as its closest ally within the region. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Syrian conflict. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research question, what motives drove Iran's foreign policy in connection with the Syrian conflict. In this context, the supposed hypothesis is "Tehran has got more opportunities to expand its influence and power in the region and beyond by defending the Bashar al-Assad regime." The thesis is divided into two chapters and relevant subchapters. The first chapter focuses on the theoretical basis of work, which is a realistic theory of international relations, and a historical definition of the important milestones of Iran's foreign policy and the roots of the Syrian conflict. The second chapter focuses on the Iranian-Syrian alliance and the very role of the Republic of Iran in the Syrian conflict. In conclusion, the thesis evaluates goals, the research question and the hypothesis.
