Cílem této práce je prozkoumat méně zkoumané okolnosti, které přispěly ke vzniku a rozpadu Jugoslávie a Československa. Práce se chronologicky zaměřuje na období kolem roku 1918, kdy vzniklo Království Srbů, Chorvatů a Slovinců a Československo, a dále i na období od konce 80tých let a 90tá léta, ve kterých došlo postupně k rozpadu Jugoslávie. Vzhledem k tomu, že problematika Jugoslávie je v České Republice jednak méně zkoumána a jednak je i mnohem složitější (než problematika Československa), práce se detailněji zabývá Jugoslávií s tím, že využívá Českoslovesko ke komparativní syntéze.The goal of this work is to examine the less scrutinized factors that have contributed to the creation and breakup of the states of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. Chronologically, the work will concentrate on the periods around 1918, when both the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and Czechoslovakia were formed, as well as the period from the end of the 1980s, concentrating on the 1990s, in which the gradual process of the dissolution of Yugoslavia took place. Being that the issue of Yugoslavia is both less examined in the Czech Republic, and having in mind that this issue is far more complex, much more space shall be devoted to Yugoslavia, using the entity of Czechoslovakia for comparative synthesis.
