Práce pojednává o problematice poporodní parézy brachiálního plexu. Poskytuje souhrn informací z našich i zahraničních zdrojů týkající se konzervativní i chirurgické léčby. Obecná část stručně popisuje anatomii a typy postižení brachiální pleteně. Uvádí reakce nervu na poškození. Speciální část se zabývá mechanismem vzniku tohoto onemocnění, jeho diagnostikou, rizikovými faktory, prognózou a eventuálními komplikacemi. Rehabilitační část shrnuje postupy a metody používané ve fyzioterapii. Pojednává o fyzikální terapii, ergoterapii, lázeňské rehabilitaci a ortotické péči. Součástí práce je kazuistika pacienta s poporodní parézou brachiálního plexu horního typu.The thesis deals with the issue of brachial plexus birth palsy. It summarises data taken from Czech as well as foreign sources related to conservative treatment and surgical intervention of brachial plexus birth palsy. The general part briefly describes the anatomy of brachial plexus and the types of injuries that might affect it. It also covers nerve reactions to the injury. The thesis further pursues the mechanism of how this injury is caused (its pathophysiology), diagnosis, risk factors, prognosis and possible complications. The procedures and methods applied in physiotherapy are summed up in the rehabilitation part. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, spa physiotherapy as well as orthotics are discussed. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the case study of a patient suffering from the upper brachial plexus birth palsy.
