Práce se zabývá obrazem následování Ježíše Krista v listech sv. Ignáce z Antiochie. Je rozdělena na čtyři kapitoly. První kapitola představuje Ignáce z Antiochie v kontextu ostatních Apoštolských otců. Druhá kapitola se zabývá tématy "následování Krista" a "askeze", a to především v kontextu rané církve. Třetí kapitola je hlavní částí práce. Pojednává postupně o pojetí Ježíše Krista v Ignácových listech; o předpokladech, důvodech a cílech následování Krista; o následování Krista ve vztahu k viditelnému stvoření a k sobě samému a svému životu. Čtvrtá kapitola navazuje na předchozí, doplňuje ji a částečně rozvíjí. Především je rozvinuto téma eucharistického rozměru Ignácova mučednictví; dalšími tématy zde probíranými jsou láska k nepřátelům, jednota a pravda v kontextu Ignácova boje proti gnózi.The thesis is dealing with the image of following Jesus Christ in the letters of Saint Ignatius of Antioch. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Ignatius of Antioch is introduced in the first chapter within the context of other Apostolic Fathers. The second chapter is addressing to topics of "Following Christ" and "Asceticism", primarily in context of Early Christianity. The third chapter, the leading part, is successively dealing with the concept of Jesus Christ in Ignatius' letters; predispositions, reasons and objectives of following Jesus Christ; following Jesus Christ with bearing on visible creation and on oneself and on one's life. The fourth chapter builds upon the previous one, completes it, as well as partially elaborates on it. The theme of Eucharistic dimension of Ignatius' martyrdom; other topics herein discussed are love to the enemy, unity and truth in the context of Ignatius' fight against gnosis.
