Tato práce se zabývala prezidentem Francouzské Páté republiky, přičemž se snažila rozšířit teorii Maurice Duvergera o faktorech ovlivňujících odlišné postavení prezidentů v poloprezidentských systémech. Byla zde ověřována hypotéza, že projev osobnosti prezidenta a jeho osobní přístup mají taktéž vliv na jeho postavení v režimu, osobnost prezidenta tedy také ovlivňuje politický systém. Na komparaci dvou posledních francouzských prezidentů, Jacquesa Chiraka a Nicolase Sarkozyho, byl poukázán vliv osobnosti na odlišné oblasti politické praxe. Prezidenti byli komparováni v jejich postoji ke svojí politické straně, ve způsobu jejich zvolení, v jejich vztahu s premiérem a vztahu s tradicí Páte republiky. Zároveň zde byla také zdůrazněna zásadní reforma francouzského ústavního systému, Jospinova reforma, jež byla schválena v roce 2000 a která velice ovlivnila politický systém a jeho vývoj. Prezidentské mandáty posledních dvou prezidentů tak byly ovlivněny jak zmíněnou ústavní reformou, tak rozdílnými osobnostními přístupy hlavy státu.This thesis focused on the president of the French Fifth Republic, while tried to extend the Maurice Duverger's theory about the factors influencing a different position of presidents in the semi-presidential systems. In thesis was verified the hypothesis that the personality and personal attitude of a president can also influence his position in the regime, therefore the president's personality also influence the political system. This hypothesis was verified on the comparison of the two last French presidents, Jacques Chirac and Nicolas, Sarkozy, in different areas of the political life. They were compared in their attitude to their political party, in the way of their election in their relationship with the prime minister and with the tradition of the Fifth Republic. At the same time there was emphasized the important constitutional reform, Jospin's reform, ratified in 2000, which also fundamentally influenced the political system and its development. The presidents' mandates of the last two presidents were thus influenced by both mentioned constitutional reform and different personalities of heads of state.
