Opíraje se o výsledky dosavadního výzkumu v této oblasti, snaží se autor této práce o analýzu příčin hluboce zakořeněné xenofobie v Rusku, včetně jejích důsledků a souvislostí. Cílem práce je nalézt a popsat většinu významných dějinných okolností, které vedly až k současnému neudržitelnému stavu. Dílčím cílem je pojmenovat důsledky tohoto stavu, týkající se zejména menšin a cizinců žijících a pobývajících v Rusku. Objektem zkoumání jsou též souvislosti popisovaného fenoménu s rozvojovou a mezinárodně-politickou dimenzí. Autor dochází k závěru, že současný alarmující stav je zapříčiněn kombinací hlubších příčin majících svůj původ v dávné historii a odrážejících se v obecném diskurzu ruské společnosti, a moderních příčin souvisejících s politickým a socioekonomickým vývojem v průběhu posledního čtvrtstoletí.Relying on the results of current research in the area, the author of this paper attempts to analyze the causes of deep-rooted xenophobia in Russia, including its consequences and context. The goal is to identify and describe the most important historical circumstances that have led to the current unsustainable situation. The objective is to name the consequences of this state, in particular relating to minorities and foreigners living and staying in Russia. The study also describes the phenomenon related to development and international political dimensions. The author concludes that the current alarming situation is due to a combination of deeper problems having their origins in ancient history and reflected in the general discourse of Russian society, and causes related to modern political and socio-economic development during the last quarter century.
