Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá vymezením žánru balady na příkladě filmu Zlaté kapradí (Jiří Weiss, 1963). Předmětem práce je definování jednotlivých komponentů žánru balady a určení baladických prvků a výrazových prostředků, které Jiří Weiss použil v tomto filmu. Prostřednictvím literárněvědných teorií a teorií žánru je vymezen žánr balady. Pomocí analytické metody je pak prokázán baladický charakter snímku Zlaté kapradí.The thesis focuses on defining the genre of ballad by using the film Zlaté kapradí (The Golden Fern, Jiří Weiss, 1963) as an example. The subject of the thesis is to determine various components of the genre and balladic elements along with the means of expression, which Jiří Weiss used in this film. The genre of ballad is defined by using the literary theory and genre theory. The use of the analytical method then shows the balladic character of the film Zlaté kapradí.
