Tématem této práce je evropské občanství, práce popisuje vznik institutu evropského občanství od historických předpokladů a geneze vzniku tohoto pojmu, dále vysvětluje co se skrývá pod samotným pojmem evropského občanství, tedy jaká práva přináší a jak se tato práva vyvíjela v průběhu let následujících po vzniku evropského občanství. Následuje přiblížení významných rozsudků Soudního dvora EU v tomto směru. Dále je evropské občanství porovnáno s občanstvím státním na příkladu České republiky. Nakonec je zodpovězena otázka, zda evropské občanství dosahuje úrovně občanství státního a jaký je předpokládaný vývoj evropského občanství do budoucna.The topic of this thesis is European citizenship. The thesis describes origination of the European citizenship from the historical presumptions and origination of the idea, and then it explains what is included in this concept - the particular rights and their evolution in the course of the years following the creation of the European citizenship. The next part deals with the case-law of Court of Justice of the European Union concerning European citizenship. After that comes comparison of the European citizenship with national citizenship on the example of the Czech Republic. And the last part reviews the benefits of the European citizenship and looks into the future of the united Europe and European citizenship.
