Práce se zabývá sexualitou osob s mentálním handicapem, zejména otázkou jejich práv v prostředí zařízení sociálních sluţeb. Zkoumá sociální konstrukci sexuality a postoje, které zastává společnost. Dále to, zda se tyto postoje změnily díky přechodu od klasického ústavního modelu k sociálnímu modelu směrem k zařazení osob s mentálním handicapem do společnosti, nebo zda jsou tyto osoby stále hodnoceny na základě předsudků. Autorka zkoumá situaci v totálních institucích a její posun k aktivní spolupráci s osobou s mentálním handicapem, včetně dilemat souvisejících se sexualitou svých klientů.This thesis deals with the sexuality of persons with mental handicap, mainly with the matter of their rights in the social service establishments. It examines the construction of the sexuality and the opinion of wide society. Moreover it investigates whether this opinion has changed due to the transformation of the institutional model into the social model of integration of persons with mental handicap into the society, or whether these people are still being treated with prejudice. The author examines the situation in total institutions and its move to the active cooperation with a mentally handicapped person, including dilemmas connected to the sexuality of their clients.
