Práce se zabývá vztahem ilustrace a textu v novele Adelberta von Chamisso Peter Schlemihls wundersame Geschichte. Analyzovány byly expresionistické ilustrace Ernsta Ludwiga Kirchnera z roku 1915. Práce vychází z teoretických poznatků F. Daneše a R. Barthese. Zahrnuje také problematiku interpretace, jež je s ilustrační činností úzce spojena. Chamissova novela obsahuje značné množství autobiografických prvků a její podstata spočívá v kritice hodnot tehdejší společnosti. Kirchner Chamissův text využívá pouze jako prostředek k vyrovnání se se svými psychickými problémy způsobenými vstupem do armády. Ačkoli se jedná o spojení dvou zdánlivě nesourodých obsahů, tvoří Chamissův text s Kirchnerovými ilustracemi komplementární celek.This work deals with the relation between illustrations and the text in the novelette "Peter Schlemihls wundersame Geschichte" by Adelbert von Chamisso. Expressionist illustrations by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner from 1915 were analyzed. The work results from theoretical findings of Fr. Daneš and R. Barthes. It also involves the problem of interpretation which is closely connected with illustration art. Chamisso´s novelette contains a lot of autobiographic elements and its basis lies in critisizing values of then society. Kirchner uses Chamisso´s text only as a means of his coping with psychic problems which were caused by his joining the army. Although it is the connection of two seemingly incongruous contents, Chamisso´s text makes complementary complex with Kirchner´s illustrations.
