Práce pojednává o tom, jakým způsobem a do jaké míry ovlivnila politika a osobnost britské ministerské předsedkyně Margaret Thatcherové celkový vývoj a směřování evropské integrace v rámci jednotlivých politik a také jak se projevila ve vztazích členských států Evropského společenství k samotné Velké Británii v době její vlády v letech 1979-1990. Je zde zkoumána hypotéza, zda její vyjednávací taktika poškodila vztahy ES k VB a také zda náhlá změna negativistické politiky směrem k ES v roce 1984 byla opravdu motivována touhou po zintenzívnění integrace nebo pouze obavou z modelu vícerychlostní Evropy.This work discusses the way and to which extent the policy and personality of the British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher influenced the overall development and direction of the european integration in the scope of individual common policies and also how this was reflected in the relations of the member statef of EC to the UK itself during her governance in 1979-1990. There are two hypothesis here to be proven: whether her bargaining strategy damaged the EC-UK relations and also whether the sudden change of the negativist policy towards the EC in 1984 was really motivated by the real desire for intensification of integration, or only the fear of a model of two-tier Europe.
