Katolické misie v Číně v novověku byly uskutečňovány především členy jezuitského řádu. Jejich misijní působení v té době je asi nejznámější a nejlépe zdokumentované. Na čínském území však působili také příslušníci jiných řeholních řádů. Cílem práce je zmapovat působení řádu františkánů v čínské misii, zhruba od 17. století do roku 1843, početně i časově, a poukázat na jeho význam v evangelizaci Číny. Ukázat, že v Číně nepůsobili jen jezuité a že působení jiných řeholních řádů by nemělo být opomíjeno. V práci jsou představeny i významné osobnosti františkánské misie v Číně, především ze Španělska, Itálie a českých zemí. Další oblastí je vysvětelení pozice františkánů ve sporu o rituály, srovnání misijní taktiky františkánů a jezuitů, a jejich role v době ilegálních misií po vydání ediktu císaře Yongzhenga.In the late imperial period Catholic missions in China were carried out especially by the Jesuits. Their missions are well documented and most likely the best-known. However, there also were members of other religious orders in China in those days. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to chart the activities of the Franciscan order in Chinese mission, approximately from 17th century to 1843 with respect to time and the quantity, and to show its importance in the evangelization of China; to show that not only Jesuits worked in China and that the work of other religious orders should not be marginalized. Important personalities from Spain, Italy and the Czech lands of the Chinese Franciscan mission are introduced in the thesis. The position of the Franciscan order in the dispute over rites is explained, the missionary policy of the Jesuits and Franciscans are compared, and their role in the time of the illegal misions after the edict of the Emperor Yongzheng had been published, is described.
