Práce pojednává o románu Vladimira Nabokova Zoufalství a jeho filmové adaptaci Reinera Wernera Fassbindera. Je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol, které se svou tematikou vztahují k pojmům nespolehlivého a egomaniakálního vypravěče, románu a filmové adaptaci, analýze filmu. Kromě teoretické kapitoly věnované teorii vypravěče, práce obsahuje i stručný pohled na vznik románu, včetně ukázek specifického druhu vypravěče v Nabokovově tvorbě. Druhá část je zaměřena na filmovou adaptaci a je její historický proces. Součástí je i analýza filmu postavená na komparaci filmového a literárního vypravěče, nechybí ani dobové ohlasy na Fassbinderův film.In my bachalor study ?Nabokov?s and Fassbinder?s Despair: Issues of a Narrator? I am focusing on Nabokov?s novel Despair and Fasbinder?s Despair: Eine Reise ins Licht. The main topic is the story teller himself. My reasearch consists of four parts. First two of them are dedicated to the novel and to the term of narrator. I am analysing into details the narration in a literal pattern, mainly I am emphasing the term of unreliable storyteller. The second half of my research is focused on adaptation. I am mentioning historical view of adaptation procedure as well. This part is also dedicated to style of director Reiner Werner Fassbinder and the origin of screenplay Tom Stoppard. In the last part I am analysing the movie Despair: Eine Reise in Licht. The main subtopic is comparision of the literary and film storyteller. Also, I am pointing out the political aspect of cinematization and last but not least I am mentioning period feedbacks.
