Diplomová práce s názvem Šumava včera a dnes se zaměřuje především na rozvoj Šumavy jako turistické oblasti. Pro pochopení současného směřování této dynamicky se vyvíjející krajiny je nejprve nastíněna její minulost a silná řemeslnná tradice. Analýza turistického potenciálu oblasti a představení strategie rozvoje, která je konfrontována se snahami o ochranu přírody, tvoří jádro práce. V souvislosti s členstvím České republiky v Evropské unii jsou zmíněny projekty, které byly na Šumavě realizovány.The Master´s Thesis called The National Parc of Šumava in the Past and Today concentrates especially on the development of Šumava as a tourist region. To understand the contemporary orientation of this dynamically evolving region, its history and strong craft tradition are outlined. The analysis of the regional tourism potential and the introduction of the development starategy which is confronted with the efforts to protect nature form the core of the thesis. Within the context of the Czech Republic´s membership in the EU, the projects implemented in Šumava are mentioned.
