Předložená diplomová práce se zaměřuje na Richarda Batku jako autora práce Die Musik in Böhmen (Berlin, 1906). Batkův stručný životopis a vymezení jeho činnosti se snaží upozornit na jeho význam v dějinách české a německé hudby. Následuje stěžejní část práce, srovnání spisu Die Musik in Böhmen s pracemi Hudba v Čechách Otakara Hostinského, Dějiny české hudby Zdeňka Nejedlého a Stručný přehled dějin české hudby Jaromíra Boreckého. Věnujeme se také celkovému srovnání všech čtyř děl a na závěr přinášíme pohled české kritiky na Richarda Batku jako autora prací s tematikou české hudby.Richard Batka (1868-1922) was one of the most appreciated music critics of his time. His musical achievements show in several opera libretti as well as in theoretical and historical works.The underlying thesis deals with the Topic Richard Batka as the author of "Die Musik in Böhmen" (The Music of Bohemia, Berlin 1906). The Introduction contains general facts and information concerning the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in order to prepare the reader for the body of the work. A brief curriculum vitae and the presentation of his work underlines Batka's influence in Czech and German music history. The essential part of this work is the comparative analysis of Bohemian music based on the following case studies: Hudba v Čechách von Otakar Hostinský, Dějiny české hudby von Zdeněk Nejedlý und Jamír Borecký´s Stručný přehled dějin české hudby. The analysis takes into concideration the author's insights into the several problems of music history, their different concepts and readership orientations. One of the main points is the history of the German culture/ civilization and their grasp in the comparing publications. The authors also dedicate to compare each of the works with each other. In the conclusion the writers of the thesis also point out Czech critic on Richard Batka, who occupied himself as a music historian with the topic of Czech music.
