Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem vstupu Turecka do Evropské unie. Pozornost je věnována možným překážkám a přínosům členství této země v Evropské unii. Na případu Turecka autorka dokládá vhodnost použití teorie sociálního konstruktivismu na problematiku rozšiřování Evropské unie a procesu evropské integrace. Turecko má řadu specifických politicko-kulturních znaků, kterými se odlišuje od ostatních členských i kandidátských zemí. Přístupová vyjednávání jsou komplikována otevíráním citlivých témat a odporem politických reprezentantů některých členských států. Veřejné mínění v evropských zemích se stále staví ke vstupu Turecka do Unie převážně negativně. Jako nejproblematičtější jsou vnímána jiná kritéria, než jaká byla oficiálně stanovena evropskými institucemi. Objevují se námitky týkající se slučitelnosti turecké a evropské identity, jejich kultury a hodnot. V Turecku probíhají důležité reformy způsobené vyhlídkou na členství Turecka v Evropské unii. Dochází k postupné evropeizaci Turecka. Autorka poukazuje na skutečnost, že k změnám musí dojít nejen na straně Turecka, ale i na straně Evropské unie. Evropská unie stojí před důležitými reformami svých institucí, politik a hodnot a impulzem k jejich realizaci by mohl být právě předpokládaný vstup Turecka. V práci jsou nastíněny také možnosti privilegovaného partnerství a vícerychlostní Evropy, jako budoucí alternativy k plnému členství.This bachelor thesis focuses on the accession of Turkey to the European Union. Attention is given to possible obstacles and benefits of Turkey's membership in the European Union. The author here - on the case of Turkey - illustrates the convenience of application of the social constructivist theory on the European Union enlargement and the process of European integration. Turkey has a lot of specific political and cultural features distinguishing it from other member and candidate countries. Accession negotiations are complicated by opening of highly sensitive topics and by resistance of political representatives of some member states. Public opinion in the European states still remains mainly negative. What would be considered as the most problematic might be the change of the criteria once determined by the European institutions. There appear objections referring to the compatibility of Turkish and European identity, their culture and values. There are important reforms taking place in Turkey caused by the prospect of Turkey's membership in the European Union. Gradual Europeanization of Turkey is in progress. The author points out that there must be changes not only on the Turkey's side, but also on the side of the European Union. European Union stands in front of important reforms of its institutions, politics and values, and the possible accession of Turkey could be the impulse to their realization. In the thesis, there are also mentioned possibilities of privileged partnership and multi-speed Europe as an alternative to the full membership.
