Práce se zabývá posouzením efektivnosti jednotlivých herních rozestavení ve fotbalové Lize mistrů ročníku 2007/2008 a jejich vlivu na konečný výsledek utkání. Ke stanovení konečného závěru se postupuje ve čtyřech krocích. Prvním z nich je posouzení úspěšnosti držení míče v jednotlivých rozestaveních. Poté se zkoumá, jaký vztah existuje mezi úspěšností držení míče a počtem střel na branku soupeře. Třetím krokem je určení vztahu mezi počtem střel na branku soupeře a počtem vstřelených gólů a v posledním bodě jsou shrnuty poznatky z předcházejících tří kroků a stanoven závěr, které z pozorovaných rozestavení dává týmu v základní skupině Ligy mistrů největší šanci na úspěch.Diploma thesis covers analysis of various formations of choosen soccer teams in the Champions league group stage 2007/2008. The choice of teams was made in that way, that each of them represented various countries and various formation. The choice was made by long-term success results and by quality of teams in Champions league, too. Analysed was the success of the each formations by ball possession, further was detected a relationship between the time of ball possession and number of shots and a relationship between number of shots and number of goals. Lastly was determinated formation, who gives the team the biggest chance to be successful. The data for analysis were gathered during matches in fourteenth year of Champions League 2007/2008.
