The Institute for the Protection of the Rights of Refugees occupies an important place in public international law. According to statistics from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner, in 2022 the number of asylum seekers in the member states of the European Union exceeded 1,000,000. The largest percentage of persons had citizenship of Ukraine and Russia. The relevance of this issue is due to the fact that in the light of the armed invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the introduction of "partial" mobilization in Russia, as well as unstable political and humanitarian situations in the Post-soviet area. The theoretical and practical significance of the appeal of individuals in order to obtain refugee status, in the opinion the author, is one of the legitimate ways to protect the rights and interests of applicants.The Institute for the Protection of the Rights of Refugees occupies an important place in public international law.
