Konvergenci společenstev lze hledat na mnoha taxonomických či ekologických úrovních mezi oblastmi oddělenými v čase či prostoru. Tato práce se zabývá konvergencí společenstev lesních ptáků boreální a severní temperátní zóny s ohledem na interkontinentální variabilitu. Práce shrnuje studie společenstev lesních ptáků Severní Ameriky, Evropy a Asie. S použitím konceptů ekologie společenstev, jako je gilda či funkční skupina, je srovnávána struktura společenstev, spolu s jejich odpověďmi na prostředí, v rámci regionů a napříč nimi. Práce přepokládá, že společenstva každého biomu si budou strukturou podobnější mezi kontinenty, než budou společenstva v rámci kontinentu mezi biomy, a tedy mohou vykazovat konvergenci. Jednotlivé podkapitoly se zabývají potenciální či zjištěnou konvergencí společenstev v rámci určitých regionů a mezi kontinenty. Zaměřením na ptačí společenstva si tato práce klade za cíl přispět chápání ekologických patrností a procesů v lesních ekosystémech napříč různými geografickými měřítky.Community convergence can be sought on numerous taxonomic and ecological levels across areas isolated in time or space. This thesis examines community convergence in avian communities inhabiting temperate and boreal forests, taking into account intercontinental variation. It focuses on the northern hemisphere and summarizes studies of forest bird communities of North America, Europe and Asia. Using functional ecology concepts such as guilds and functional groups community structures and their responses to environment are compared within and between regions. This thesis postulates that avian communities within each biome will exhibit greater structural similarity between continents than within the same continent but across different biomes, thus suggesting that community convergence could be at play. Each sub-chapter discusses the potential for, or evidence of, community convergence within specific regions and between different continents. Focusing on avian communities, this study aims to enhance understanding of ecological patterns and processes in forest ecosystems across diverse geographic scales.
