Ce mémoire de licence a pour objectif d'analyser la traduction française des sept livres de Harry Potter comme la littérature de jeunesse culturellement conditionnée ? travers les théoriciens Eugene Nida et Peter Newmark. Dans la partie théorétique, il aborde les spécificités de la littérature pour enfants dont cadre se situe dans la culture spécifique, puis il définit les zones potentiellement problématiques qui peuvent causer, dans une traduction, un malentendu pour la culture des jeunes lecteurs de langue cible. Il également décrit les solutions possibles d'apr?s Eugene Nida et Peter Newmark. Dans la partie pratique, il évalue l'approche utilisée par Jean-François Ménard dans sa traduction des livres Harry Potter.The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the French translation of the seven Harry Pot-ter books as children's literature that is culturally conditioned through the lens of the theoreti-cians Eugene Nida and Peter Newmark. The theoretical portion of the thesis tackles the unique aspects of children's literature set within a specific cultural environment, then it defines poten-tially problematic areas which might lead to misinterpretation for young readers of the translat-ed text. The thesis also analyses possible solutions proposed by Eugene Nida and Peter New-mark. In the practical part, the approach chosen by Jean-Francois Ménard in his Harry Potter translation is evaluated.
