Tato diplomová práce pojednává o jménu a příjmení a jejich změnách. Jméno a příjmení jsou základními identifikátory každé fyzické osoby, které mohou ovlivnit život jejich nositeli. Proto zákonodárce nositelům umožňuje jejich změnu a proces této změny reguluje. Tato práce se věnuje problematice matriční činnosti, právu na jméno a jeho ochraně, určování a užívání jména a příjmení, procesu změny jména a příjmení a jednotlivým situacím, za kterých může dojít ke změně jména a příjmení. Předmětem této diplomové práce je komplexní zpracování problematiky jména a příjmení a jejich změny. Cílem této práce bylo upozornit na změny ustanovené novelou zákona o matrikách a občanského zákoníku a zhodnotit zda, tyto změny můžou vést k odstranění nedostatečné či nedokonalé právní úpravy.This thesis is about first and last names and their changes. First and last names are the basic identifiers of any natural person that can affect the life of their bearer. Therefore, the legislator allows the bearers to change them and regulates the process of this change. This paper examines the issues of civil registration, the right to a name and its protection, the determination and use of names and surnames, the process of changing names and surnames, and the various situations in which names and surnames may be changed. The subject of this thesis is a comprehensive treatment of the issue of name and surname change. The aim of this thesis was to highlight the changes introduced by the amendment to the Act on Civil Registry and the Civil Code and to assess whether these changes can lead to the elimination of insufficient or imperfect legal regulation.
