Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit pomocí standardizovaného dotazníku FES-I (Falls Efficacy Scale International) strach z pádu a faktory, které jej ovlivňují u hospitalizovaných geriatrických pacientů. Dílčí cíle se zaměřují na zjištění jak úroveň soběstačnosti, deprese, kognitivních funkcí a vybrané sociodemografické charakteristiky ovlivňují strach z pádu u těchto pacientů. Metodika: kvantitativní výzkumná metoda - standardizované dotazníky v české verzi: FES-I, ADL, GDS, MMSE. Výzkumný soubor tvoří 300 respondentů - hospitalizováni na standardních odděleních II. interní kliniky - gastroenterologické a geriatrické ve Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc. Výsledky výzkumného šetření prokázaly nejsilnější signifikantní závislost mezi depresí a strachem z pádu. Signifikantní závislost vyšla také mezi strachem z pádu a kognicí a soběstačnosti. Mnohonásobná lineární regrese prokázala závislost mezi strachem z pádu a délkou hospitalizace, účastí společenských aktivit, frekvencí návštěv, sluchem, výskytem pádů v posledním roce, kognitivními funkcemi a depresí. Naopak nebyla prokázána signifikantní závislost mezi strachem z pádu a bolestí, věkem, pohlavím, vzděláním, zrakem a výskytem pádu v posledních třech měsících.The aim of this thesis is to determine the fear of falling and the factors that influence it in hospitalized geriatric patients using the standardized FES-I (Falls Efficacy Scale International) questionnaire. The sub-objectives aim to determine how the level of self-care, depression, cognitive function and selected sociodemographic characteristics influence the fear of falling in these patients. Methodology: quantitative research method - standardized questionnaires in Czech version: FES-I, ADL, GDS, MMSE. The research population consists of 300 respondents - hospitalized in standard wards of the II. internal - gastroenterology and geriatric clinic at the University Hospital Olomouc. The results of the research investigation showed the strongest significant relationship between depression and fear of falling. Significant dependence was also found between fear of falling and cognition and self-sufficiency. Multiple linear regression showed a relationship between fear of falling and length of hospitalization, participation in social activities, frequency of visits, hearing, incidence of falls in the past year, cognitive function, and depression. On the other hand, there was no significant relationship between fear of falling and pain, age, gender, education, vision and incidence of falling in the last three months.
