Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na faktory, které vedly k selhání Organizace Spojených národů při snaze zabránit genocidě ve Rwandě v roce 1994. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část se zabývá kontextem a počátkem genocidy ve Rwandě. Druhá část se věnuje hypotézám, které analyzují faktory vedoucí k selhání. Poslední část popisuje konec genocidy, reakce mezinárodního společenství a použití teorie instrumentalismu na případ Rwandy.This bachelor's thesis focuses on the factors that led to the failure of the United Nations to prevent the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the context and the beginning of the genocide in Rwanda. The second part is devoted to hypotheses that analyze the factors leading to failure. The final section describes the end of the genocide, the response of the international community and the application of instrumentalism theory to the case of Rwanda.
