Disperze je životní znak zásadně ovlivňující fitness jedinců a metapopulační dynamiku. Toto téma jsem ve své práci zpracovala formou rešerše odborné literatury. Mým cílem bylo shrnout dosavadní poznatky týkající se disperze terestrických obratlovců s důrazem na ptáky a podat přehled různých faktorů, které tento znak ovlivňují. V této práci vysvětluji základní pojmy související s disperzí a její evoluční souvislosti. Dále se práce zabývá individuálními koreláty disperze, přičemž kladu důraz na srovnání savců a ptáků a možná vysvětlení rozdílné disperze u těchto dvou nejprobádanějších skupin obratlovců. Součástí této práce je také kapitola o vlivu vnějšího biotického a abiotického prostředí na disperzi obratlovců a kapitola věnující se obecným pravidlům pro délku disperze a kolonizaci nového prostředí. Poslední část práce je věnována spojitostem mezi disperzí a klimatickou změnou. Nebylo sice možné se v této práci věnovat tématu disperze v celé jeho šíři, může ale snad sloužit při orientaci v základních faktech týkajících se výzkumu disperze obratlovců.Dispersal is a life-history trait with a fundamental influence on individual fitness and metapopulation dynamic. This work is a review of scientific literature on this topic. My goal was to summarize the current findings regarding the dispersal of terrestrial vertebrates with an emphasis on birds and to provide an overview of all factors influencing this trait. In this thesis I present the basic terminology and briefly summarize the evolutionary context of dispersal. Furthermore, the thesis deals with individual correlates of dispersal with emphasizes on the comparison of the dispersal of mammals and birds and their possible explanations. This thesis also includes a chapter on the influence of biotic and abiotic environment on the dispersal of vertebrates and a chapter devoted to general rules for the length of dispersal and the colonization. The last part is devoted to the links between dispersal and climate change. It was not possible to deal with this topic in its entirety here, but this thesis can serve as a tool for orientation in the basic facts and research possibilities of vertebrate dispersal.
