Tato práce analyzuje přínos filmu Mnoho povyku pro nic (1993) režiséra Kennetha Branagha žánru Shakespearovských adaptací. Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo objasnit Branaghovy stylotvorné prvky a vizuální složky filmu Mnoho povyku pro nic a představit, kterým směrem se vyvíjely Shakespearovské adaptace díky Branaghově režii. Na analýze filmu je dokázána Branaghova práce s herci, záměr produkce tohoto filmu a čím a proč cílil na americké mladé publikum. Podrobně je rozebrán syžet filmu a okomentované odchylky od původního narativu. Hlavní částí výzkumu je analýza vztahů mezi hlavními postavami a jejich hereckými protějšky. Analýza byla konstruována podle adaptačních metodologií dvou teoretiček - Julie Sandersové a Deborah Cartmellové.This thesis analyses the contribution of Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing (1993) to the genre of Shakespearean adaptations. The aim of this thesis was to analyse Branagh's stylistic elements and visual components of Much Ado About Nothing and to outline the development of Shakespearean adaptations as a result of Branagh's directing. Through the film analysis is demonstrated how Branagh worked with the actors, the aim of the production, and how and why was the film targeted at young American audience. The film's plot is discussed in detail as well as deviations from the original narrative. The main part of the research is an analysis of the relationships between the main characters and their acting counterparts. The analysis has been constructed according to the adaptation methodologies of two theorists, Julie Sanders and Deborah Cartmell.
