Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je vytvořit experiment se zaměřením na hodnocení vybraného kartografického produktu s využitím metody think-aloud (přemýšlení nahlas). Jedná se o metodu, kdy respondenti nahlas verbalizují své myšlenkové pochody. Po získání odborných znalostí o této metodě byly v průběhu práce vytvořeny dvě studie. První pilotní studie se zaměřovala na hodnocení map pro majitele a chovatele psů. Tato studie byla kombinována i se záznamem pohybu očí a sloužila pro vyzkoušení metody na kartografických produktech. Zkušenosti z pilotní studie byly využity pro tvorbu druhé hlavní studie se zaměřením na atlas Moravskoslezského kraje. Součástí bylo i testování nástrojů pro práci se zaznamenanými daty. V průběhu práce byly navrženy tři směry, jak zvukové záznamy zpracovat a analyzovat. První možností je separace záznamu na jednotlivé anotace a jejich analýza. Další možnosti je převod záznamu na text a provedení lingvistické analýzy. Třetí doplňující možností je využití veškerých vzniklých materiálu a jejich subjektivní retrospektivní analýza z pohledu výzkumníka. Výsledkem studií jsou navrhnutá doporučení pro optimalizaci kartografických produktů ke zvýšení jejich použitelnosti. Výstupem práce je unifikace metody, hodnocení těchto produktů a také strukturalizovaný manuál pro realizaci testování použitelnosti pomocí think-aloud metody. Výsledky a výstupy práce umožní replikovat think-aloud experimenty na jiných produktech a textová část diplomové práce zároveň poslouží jako sběrnice teorie a pojmů v souvislosti s metodou think-aloud.The main objective of the thesis is to create an experiment focusing on the evaluation of a selected cartographic product using the think-aloud method. This is a method where respondents verbalize their thought processes aloud. After gaining expertise in this method, two studies were created in the course of the work. The first pilot study focused on evaluation maps for dog owners and breeders. This study was also combined with eye-tracking method and was used to test the think-aloud method on cartographic products. The experience from the pilot study was used for the development of the second main study focusing on an atlas of the Moravian-Silesian region. It also included testing of tools for working with the recorded data. In the course of the work, three directions were proposed for processing and analysing the audio recordings. The first way is to separate the recording into individual annotations and analyse them. Another option is to convert the recording to text and perform linguistic analysis. The third additional option is to use all the material produced and to analyse it subjectively retrospectively from the researcher's perspective. As a result of the studies, recommendations are proposed for optimizing cartographic products to increase their usability. The output of the thesis is a unified method, an evaluation of these products as well as a structured manual for the implementation of usability testing using the think-aloud method. The results and outputs of the thesis will enable replication of think-aloud experiments on other products, and the text part of the thesis will also serve as a collection of theory and concepts related to the think-aloud method.
