Diplomová práce se zabývá bezpečnostní situací v Mexiku, charakterizovanou vleklým ozbrojeným konfliktem, ve kterém proti sobě stojí nejen zločinecké organizace obchodující s drogami a státní ozbrojené složky, ale i mnoho dalších aktérů a ozbrojených skupin. Předmětem práce je analyzovat aktuální situaci a její vývoj v posledních letech, nejen prostřednictvím ukazatelů, zahrnujících míru vražd a míru korupce, ale i prostřednictvím zkoumání sociálních a ekonomických podmínek a vládních bezpečnostních strategií. Cílem práce je určit hlubší vnitřní i vnější faktory vedoucí k výskytu ozbrojeného konfliktu v zemi. Teoretickým základem práce jsou tři hlavní teoretické prameny, které zahrnují teorii světového systému, teorii závislosti a teorii Nových válek. Zjištění obsažená ve finální části práce odhalují, že hybateli tzv. drogové války nejsou pouze drogy, ale také jiné faktory a zájmy.The diploma thesis analyses the security situation in Mexico, characterized by a protracted armed conflict, in which not only criminal drug trafficking organizations and state armed forces, but also many other actors and armed groups are engaged in the conflict. The subject of this work is to look at the current situation and its evolution in recent years not only through indicators, including the rate of murders and the level of corruption, but also through the study of social and economic conditions and government security strategies. The aim of the work is to determine both the internal and external factors leading to the occurrence of the armed conflict in the country. The theoretical basis of the work is formed by three main theoretical sources which include the World-System Theory, the Dependency Theory and the Theory of New Wars. Findings in the final part of the work reveal that the so-called drug war is caused or driven by larger account of factors and interests and not simply by drugs.
